Over their heads

We have used this series in our program for the past 5 years. The revised edition is much to difficult for our level 1 students. The exercises that require them to discover the grammar is much too difficult for students who don't have a lot of vocabulary and I think that this has increased their affective filter. It doesn't make them feel successful it causes frustration and confusion. I would not recommend this revised edition for anyone looking for a grammar text for low level students. I hope that when the level 2 book is revised that it is not created in the same fashion.

Clear Grammar is exactly that. Logical and well-organized, smart tips also on what might trip up an ESL student. I sampled several other books for my ESL tutoring but found this one was by far the most useful.
