I ordered this book is for a class i am taking. I can't say it is particularly enjoyable but it gets the job done. It does repeat information quite often in chapters which can be slightly annoying, but the real reason I am dissatisfied is because of the time it took to be delivered!
I ordered the book on a Tuesday, choosing 3-5 business day delivery, assuming the counting started from the day it was ordered. I didnt end up getting the book for 10 business days, and fell behind in my class because of it. Advice: don't order online!

Philippines-based illustrator Kerby Rosanes works mainly with ordinary black pens to magically illustrate his "doodle" world.

Great artwork and improved paper but the UK version is still slightly better for my use

The book in the video and in the photos are only of the US version of this book except photos where I show both books. In those cases, the UK version is at the top and the US version is at the bottom.

I purchased both the UK and the US version of this book. I reviewed the UK version on Amazon on April 23rd of this year. As I noted at that time, I really enjoy Kerby Rosanes artwork which includes an unusual look at design and I have a really fun time coloring all the little odds and ends that make up the full design. I found that I actually liked Imagimorphia even more than Animorphia – which was difficult to do as I so enjoyed his first book in this series. It still has a good number of animals in it but it expands beyond them into other design concepts as well.

So, the designs are great, as expected, but what about the publishing quality of the US published book? The UK version was published in exactly the same fashion as the UK version of Animorphia. I was dreading that might be the case with the US version as well. What actually arrived was a coloring book printed on a much heavier weight of paper than the US Animorphia book. It actually weighs slightly more than the UK version – either a slightly heavier paper or the slightly larger size of book – or a combination of both of these. The US version weighs in at 1.07 lbs. and the UK version weighs in at 1.03 lbs. The US version measures at 10 x 10 x 3/8 inches and the UK version is 9 7/8 x 9 7/8 x 3/8 inches.

That is good and a great improvement since the last book but there are some more subtle differences in the publishing that still makes me prefer the UK version. If I didn't have access to the UK version, I would have been okay with the US one but I still would have been a little bit unhappy with a couple of issues. The two most important of these are the binding and the texture of the paper.

The UK version has a sewn binding and the US is glue bound. The UK version has the design right into the binding and the US has a white strip (when you can get the book to fully open which is impossible for me on some of the pages.) Where this is most evident and least desirable is on two-page spread designs. Right in the middle of the design is a quarter inch strip of nothingness. I have no problem getting the pages to open on the UK version because they are sewn rather than glued. I did have to break the spine with a heavy crease, but I was able to get at all of the design without at white strip.

The texture of the paper is important for me as I use colored pencils for my work (due to the double-sided printing and the leak-through of markers.) The US version of the book is very smooth – almost slick. The UK version of the book has a slightly smooth but with enough tooth for colored pencils. My pencils had more of a “smeary” type of look with the US version.

Other small differences include color of paper and print. The UK is brighter white with darker print. The US is softer white with slightly lighter print. The covers are different in texture and color. The UK is matte black with glossy highlights on the designs and title. The US is a softer matte and there are no glossy highlights.

The designs are all the same though there is a slight switch up of pages in the title and bookplate pages between the two versions.

Here is what I experienced while coloring in this book and testing my various coloring medium.

Two page designs have a white strip running down both sides of the page at the binding

Glue Binding

Had difficulty getting the book to open flat for coloring

Alcohol-based markers bleed through

Most water-based markers bleed through spotty (exception was the brush end of my Tombows which did not bleed through)

India ink pens left shadows on the back of the page.

Gel pens did not leak through the paper.

Coloring pencils do not do as well with this paper. The paper is extremely smooth and did not provide good tooth (or grip) for the color to adhere evenly. Both my wax and oil-based pencils provided a kind of smeary uneven color.

Summary:
"Imagimorphia" contains 77 full size coloring pages, 3 pages of "draw-your-own", 5 pages of introductory material, 3 pages of hidden objects, and an 8 page index in the back. It measures 10 inches square and is glue bound into a colorable, matte finish cover. Featuring a variety of intricate black and white line drawn images, this book is appropriate for adult colorists on all skill levels.

Paper:
The paper in this book is bright white and fairly heavy(think scrapbooking weight). All pages are double sided and non-perforated. Dry mediums/gel pens should be okay to use, but most markers will bleed through. As always, be sure to place several sheets of blotter paper under your current picture to prevent any color transfer or pencil indentations.

Artwork:
As with the author's other book, "Imagimorphia" focuses on intricate, fantasy inspired artwork. Inside you'll see animals, birds, insects, steampunk themes, skulls, ships, fish, and more. There are approx. 24 double page spreads that do merge into the binding. Most of them are lined up well, but there were a few that were very crooked. The rest of the images are contained to a single page and end before reaching the edges. Print quality is very high and the detail level is consistent throughout. Picture completion time should range from 6-15 hours(may be slightly different for each individual). Overall, this is a nicely done book that doesn't disappoint. It would be best suited for chalk/pencil colorists who enjoy coloring extremely detailed imagery.

This is one of my fav books! I have tons of fun with it! The book itself is very soft and easy to bend open to color the cross pages. I have no trouble using any kinds of coloring pencils! the design is so incredible, so much energy and so many little hidden creatures for you to discover! It's a book for all age and all gender!

Practical, Realistic Guidance

I really enjoyed this book. I found it to be one of the better ones on the topic of Goal Setting. Other goal setting books I've read simply talk about the whys of setting goals, without really taking into consideration everything that is involved in the process. They make the mistake of thinking that creating a goal is the equivalent of achieving it. Unfortunately, that is not reality.

To successfully achieve anything, you need to be in touch with your inner drives and motivators. You also need to understand the things that are going to get in your way. There are real challenges, both internal and external, that exist. It helps to be aware of these obstacles and be prepared to manage them.

This author recognizes that. He takes a functional, realistic approach to setting goals. He doesn't pump you with superficial feel good dialogue that in my opinion only motivates you for the short term. Instead he provides compelling reasons for why you should set goals and guides you through the process. In the process, he helps you figure out what truly fulfills you and shows you how to break down and analyze those fulfillments to give yourself the best chance of success.

What's unique about this book is how the content is structured. It is presented such that you are walked through the goal setting steps as you read. So by the time you are done, you've figured out fundamental things about yourself and set some worthwhile goals. This way you spend less time reading and more time doing.

Not to mention, this is a comfortable and easy read. It is not drawn out nor difficult. The author does an exceptional job of keeping the content concise. Although concise, there is plenty of meaningful insight. Some you may already know, but worth reading as it reinforces your thinking to follow it through.

All in all, this book is a great resource for anybody, in any stage in their life. It will be particularly useful for students uncertain of their future plans, adults who feel they've made the wrong choices, or anyone who wants more out of life, but not sure of what or how to go about doing it.

Great read, was an eye-opening experience.

Eye Opening

I found this book to be helpful, but beyond that, it was refreshing. There are so many books written on "Goal Setting" and achieving your goals. The best analogy I can come up with is, when I buy a car. Most salespersons will try to sell me on its color, how it will look in the driveway, what my neighbors will say, and all the superficial stuff. That does not work for me. I want to talk to the man or woman who can tell my why the car works so well. That is who gets my attention.

This author is like that knowledgeable salesperson, taking the premise of setting goals, and breaking it down to make it applicable. After reading this book, I understand that setting goals is the engine that drives us. The most important precept for me was the author's premise that goals cannot be spoken into existence; they must be defined and analyzed. Fortunately, the message is conveyed in a way that is light and entertaining. My expectation was five chapters in the lecture hall, but for me, the information seemed to end before my interest waned.

The book is also buoyed with interesting quotes from notably successful men and women. J.C. Penny's quote of "Give me a stock clerk with a goal..." has changed my approach to life. The author has an uncanny knack for saying so much in just a few short words. That is what made this such an extraordinary read. His analogy of trying to accomplish one's goal to trying to find one's way out of a maze, will resonate with readers of all ages and lifestyles. This book will pass through your whole family. Of course, a teenage boy will see it much differently from his 30-something mother, but they will both get the same benefits for their reading.

The author does a good job in helping one to recognize their fear of failure and fear of success, I now know that both have paralyzing results. The author clearly understands what make us tick, and more importantly, what makes us stop ticking. A whole segment is devoted to going off course. The great separator for this book is that every problem identified has a common and straightforward resolution. Again, the author is not filling our mind with visions of sugarplums...he is giving us the core of the substance.

Two final and important points, the author explains that we should be sure to reward ourselves. The reader will come to understand that more often than not, we are our own worst taskmaster. Just as those on severe and restrictive diets are sure to fall under such heavy commission, so does the man or woman who fails to enjoy the achievement of his or her goals. In conclusion, if you truly desiring to make a change in your life, your next appointed goal should be to purchase this book. Then, take that first step towards change, and read this book. Nothing is free, but a lifetime of change never seemed so reasonably priced.

A Well-Written Book that Kept Me Interested the Whole Way Through!

I have never before read a self-help, or "how to" book that kept my interest all the way to the end. This book is extremely well written and offers a new perspective to setting and attaining goals. I found myself relating to the provided situations as well as filling in the blanks with my own personal issues. The quotes at the beginning of each chapter are a nice touch as well. They, themselves, make you stop and think. My favorite quote in the book is, "Change is not an event, but a process."

All of my life, even in college, I was taught that goal setting was for things desired in the distant future. This author obviously knows better, and everything written in this book makes perfect sense. This is an awesome guide of how to get where you want to be by following simple, sensible steps that actually are attainable. After reading, I found myself thinking about how I can brea k down my own goals to move forward in achieving success in a shorter amount of time.

It really was a coincidence that I came across it at a time when things were taking a huge, unexpected turn in my professional life. I now have some "new" knowledge for the road ahead, and I plan to use it to my advantage.

Not too good for self-study

I'm an 8th grader that wants to learn chemistry very badly, and bought this book.

Most of the book provides an adequate explanation for all the essential concepts encountered in a regular high school course. I know this because after reading this book, I looked at the state tests for a high school chemistry course, and I could do most of the problems. There are many examples in the book that help a student understand what the text is trying to explain. There are also a lot of practice problems after each section and chapter that reinforces the contents of the chapter/section very well.

However, without a teacher, if some concept is not clear, then chaos occurs. There are selected parts in the book that are vague in a way. To me, the noticable ambiguity in the text comes in the bonding chapter. They sort of assume that out of nowhere you can write an electron dot structure, a concept that other review chemistry texts take pages explaining. Hybridization was also explained poorly, and several weeks after I read that part (when I was finished with the book), I finally thought I got it, and then a chapter review problem proved that it was still a mystery. I have another chemistry book that I use to help me understand in case I don't get what's going on in this chemistry book.

Bonding isn't the only chapter that is a disaster in clarity (although it is the worst). The chapters from about 16-23 were all not as good as the other ones. There was also some guessing involved in the oragnic chemistry section, but that was not too bad; I still figured it out.

My school uses this textbook (as I found out months after I bought this book). With a teacher, this book is perfect, but without one, get ready to think; appreciate the pictures in there when you can, but focus a lot on figuring out the material.

Fairly Decent

This book is a decent chemistry book that does a good job in covering chemistry material. Although there are not enough example problems in the book to gain a good understanding of the "math" goes on chemistry. The book doesn't provide goods STEPS in chemistry problems. For example, the text lacks a section that tells teh student how to draw a Lewis Dot Structure and the steps to determine bonds. This text also has labs but they aren't really that good.

The book does offer good examples of realife chemistry in action. Things are organized well with good charts, graphs, and summary tables. The book problems are o.k. but one should supplement the book with another excercise book. It's easy too understand and good for first year chem only.

I absolutely loved this boxed set

I absolutely loved this boxed set. Star was such an interesting and likeable character I couldn't wait to keep reading about her exploits. Plus, the chemistry between her and Rick was explosive! The love scenes were incredibly sensual and the writing was absolutely beautiful. Can't wait to read more from this author.

Scorching Hot, Fearless, and Sensual - Fantastic!

As always Jayne Rylon is fearless and ambitious in her writing style. I loved this heroine so much I can't even put it into words. Her career as a prostitute isn't just a job to her, it's about helping individuals who need another human's touch. While that concept could come off cliché or awkward if written wrong; Ms. Rylon did a fantastic job of showing us Star's heart and soul, so that we really believed that she was in it for the right reasons. When she meets the man of her dreams, and finds herself in a difficult situation it doesn't come across as contrite. I felt every emotion, and Sweet Jesus I felt every orgasm! This series was SCORCHING hot, romantic, dramatic, and it is absolutely one of my favorite pieces of Jayne Rylon's work. Well done.

A surprise!

I was looking for something different to read and boy did I get it! I really enjoyed the relationship between Sarah and Rick. It was very intense and on a level that is quite rare! I would recommend this book to anyone that likes this genre. The only thing that I took a very small issue with was the ending. I felt it was a bit abrupt. I wanted just a bit more.
